I believe that every individual should receive therapy that is centered on one’s own well-being and desire for self-importance. My goal is to help individuals accept and trust themselves as well as to feel valued being themselves. I have worked alongside BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, those within the criminal justice system, and intersecting identities. I have a background in supporting individuals who experience depression, anxiety, traumatic symptoms, personality disorders, and schizophrenia. I believe identity is a key element in understanding the individual and their relationship within wider systems.
I am trained in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychoanalysis/psychodynamic, existential-humanistic counseling, and solution-focused therapy. I have worked with pre-teens, teens, and adults. I am skilled in mental health assessments including diagnostic, personality assessment, and cognitive ability testing. I help find strengths from within.
After graduating from University of Denver's Forensic Psychology program and working within the criminal justice system, I am able to apply non-judgemental empathy to many difficult situations. We do not always treat ourselves with the kindness we deserve and I hope that I can help you find comfort and confidence in who you are and who you will become.
Kristen is a member of the International Honors Society in Psychology (Psi Chi) since 2018.
