Mental Health therapy, also known as counseling, helps individuals explore themselves and changes aspects of their life or perspective for their own improvement. Sessions usually last 55 minutes and you can expect to be listen to, understood, and helped by exploring your mind, relationships, and feelings.
Kristen Weber uses an eclectic approach to therapy, meaning she will use different modalities depending on the client's wants and concerns. Often she uses existential-humanistic, person-centered, and humor based approaches. One of Kristen's objects for clients is for them to get so good at knowing themselves they never need therapy again. A lofty goal, but meaningful to many.
A primary session, called "an intake", is a 90-minute session in which the counselor and the client talk about what the client wants to get out of therapy and to see if it is a good match. The most important part of therapy is to have a good therapeutic relationship with your counselor. This is how that starts.
Both intake and 55 minute sessions cost $90. Sliding scale can be provided if you can not afford services. If you would like longer or shorter sessions, these sometimes can be accommodated at a prorated rate. Rates will increase to $100 January 2026.
